About the author
Hameed Hakimi is a Senior Research Associate at ODI Global and a Senior Fellow (nonresident) at the Atlantic Council. Previously, he worked with Chatham House in various research roles (2013 – 2026) and served as a Specialist Adviser to the Foreign Affairs Committee at the UK Parliament (2021 – 2022). As a senior expert and project leader, he has led interdisciplinary research, strategic dialogues, communication strategies, and high-impact initiatives for over 15 years, focusing on complex contexts in Western Europe, South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East. His doctoral research at the University of Cambridge critically examines conceptions of security, securitisation and migration in Europe.
